I’m seeing more and more posts made by “noobs” in random forums that comment on the post and then add a link to some webpage with an ambiguous connection to the topic or no relation to the topic at all.
Russian hackers, spam bots or desperate work from home bloggers, we are being assaulted by these spam posts in even the less used forums.
I suggest that new members are restricted from adding hyperlinks for their first 30 days of membership. I know that the website address will still be visible, but at least the link won’t be active, unassuming members won’t click on them and they won’t get credit for their dirty deeds.
This is still happening. I report the posts when I see them as they are pretty obvious (bad grammar, no sentence structure, loose or no relevance to the topic and sketchy links). Some posts are never removed and for some reason it must open a portal to other bots that respond to the post as well. There has to be a better way to validate new users.
