As a casual photographer who has owned several 35mm film cameras since Kodachrome 25 years and then early and more matured digital cameras, I need suggestions for current digital cameras for under $150 knowing that technology has progressed. I don't want to spend $150 blindly. Revews on the internet do not reveal the whole story that includes accurate color rendition, video quality and ease of accessing settings. Your suggestions please and TIA.

You won't find anything in that price range.
You'll need to drop $450 - 700 for decent entry level DSLR setup.
If you don't already have any lenses this is a good starter set Nikon D3500 $450 @ BestBuy

Mirrorless cameras are the latest trend but are expensive. $1,000 is a good starting point.

My first digital camera was a Nikon Coolpix 990 point and shoot with 3.34MP and cost me $1,000 in spring of 2000.

for $150 just use your cell phone, or get a better phone. unless you meant 1500 Then you have a lot of options.
      signatures are annoying, right?

I suppose I should have specified pants pocket size camera but it seems likely that is what I would get with a < $150 camera. I simply do not want a large camera dangling from my neck nor a large camera case fastened to my pants belt. My phone camera is ok but is not great. Desired camera thickness would be less than 1-1/4". Can anyone here suggest the best digital camera for under $150?

I have one of these, it'll fit in your pocket.
      It takes decent photos.
      Nikon Coolpix s630

According to Wiki, the Nikon S630 was released in 2/09 and has been discontinued. We looked at WM and Best Buy tonight; the camera selection quantity and variety were meager. Neither had Samsung cameras for example. I await advice for a good, current technology pocket sized digital camera and don't want to simply spend money and then hope for something good.
