I would probably take a Nissan 370Z Nismo over any of those (except for maaaaaaaybe the Mustang--'Stangs are so darn big, though...).

I've never driven any of them, but that's probably the option I'd go with. I have no desire to own a 4cyl Porsche. The m2 just doesn't resonate with me, the 350 and lotus definitely seem like cool cars but I think I'd chose one of the bowties. I think I'd chose the vette over the camaro because we're talking sportscars and I'd go GS over z06 because I'd want to learn with that car and not kill myself with all that excess HP.

I hope the Corvette interior looks better in person than in the pic above.

Was going to choose Z06, but that interior...
Was going to choose GT350, but it is a brutish car at all times...
Was going to choose the Porsche, but even an S is outgunned by everything else in the list, and not nearly as "special" as the M2C...
Was going to choose Lotus, but reliability and getting it serviced...

...was never going to choose the Camaro.

The M2 is probably the best car here.

The 370Z can run with perhaps the Porsche. Everything else on this list will eat it.

Having been in them, I don't see how the C7's interior is any worse than the GT350, or that far behind if the M2.

Eh, Porsche weighs less and hooks up better. They would run within a few seconds of each other, but the Cayman S would walk all over a 370z.

      That...

Given how slow the Nismo 370Z lapped here, I highly doubt it can hold a candle to the Cayman S:

It's the weight. 460lbs difference in curb weight. That'll slow ya down.

      1. Evora
      2. M2
      3. Mustang
      Then everything else.

3 would have gone to the Porsche, but I don't love the 4 cylinder noise.

It's not. Having driven a couple of M2s, including the competition, it's not that special. A nice car for sure. Definitely a fun car. Not really that special and it weighs almost the same as an M3/M4. I've not driven a C7, but I've sat in a few. I never thought the interior was bad---and certainly the next level up from a mustang. Nothing jumps out as any greater with the BMW vs the C7 either.

Yes, that makes sense with regard to the time, but with 405hp, shouldn't it be trapping at a higher speed?

I think the porsche has a layout (meaning traction) and gearing advantage over the M2. 98X cars have for years now punched well above their weight at the drag strip.

Z06 or GT350. Both interiors suck, but the sound and presence on the street are orgasmic.

I'd have to drive them all to know for sure, but I think I'd prefer one of the last manual Corvettes over a 4-cylinder Cayman. Evora's intriguing too because we're probably near the pinnacle of its run (over 400hp!).

      C7 GS.

      GT350 is the runner up.

I voted M2 however buying such an exciting car in such a boring color seems like a missed opportunity. I'd get mine in orange.

Get a BMW M2 with manual and no sunroof. Can be had for $61K. It's the cheapest and more of a back-to-roots car for BMW. Everyone who has test driven it raves about it. To me it's the modern day E30 M3

Corvette is claustrophobic. Same for the Camaro. At least for me.
Mustang does not have good build quality (panel gaps. Really, Ford? In 2019?)
Porsche Cayman is awesome but probably requires more expensive Porsche $$$ maintenance and it's a turbo 4.
Evora is a rare car with suspect quality.

      That's MHO.

Evora most likely. Possibly the GT350.

Or split the difference with some flavor of used 991 7spd.

Complains about quality in other cars, suggests BMW.
