WTH? Is it because of the manual transmission?

I absolutely love the gt2rs but that Scud is a manual and it's needed.

I voted the 2018 because newest. None of the cars I really care for. Give me a regular 911S with manual.

Is the 997 GT2 RS that much better than a non-RS GT2, which is half the price?

I don't know. I'd want to go for the 991 GT2RS, but I'd be worried with its value once the 992 version comes out. It seems the 992 is very similar to the 991, whereas the 997 is the best balance of old and new in terms of "911-ness."

      Isn't a 911 GT3 Touring manual arguably a better car?

Yes, but it's not a collectible like all the cars in the OP.

Can I choose an Aston Martin instead? Give me a DBS and I'm happy.

Exactly. I'd rather get the GT3 and drive it and enjoy it, and for less.

For a manual transmission car to buy, drive, and enjoy I really cannot think of anything better at any price.

Is the purpose a DD or a museum piece?

GT3 still sounds like the best option.

All of the cars in the OP are collectibles and likely not worth putting many miles on. Definitely not DD material.

I think Porsche has done a good job brainwashing car enthusiasts thinking that almost every Porsche is collectible.

I voted 991.2, latest and greatest for me. I don't think there's a bad choice here, but the 2x markup for the 6MT in the Ferrari is astounding. I wonder how much it would cost to convert one?

As far as collectible status, sure, but I would still track any of these cars without hesitation.

It definitely hurts to see that, but IMO it also hurts to see wonderful cars with two digits on the odometer. I know it's a logical fallacy, but to me it feels to me like a race horse being trapped in a barn.

I don’t personally take much interest in garage queens you can’t drive. Of the options though, definitely the 911 R.

      Manual + Houndstooth seats =

      Something else.

997.2, PDK, that I can drive and enjoy. The remainder in investments.
