Are Glass Touch Screens Safe To Use While Driving?

There are good and bad implementations of touch and non touch screen based interiors. One that's designed poorly will suck to operate regardless if it has real buttons or not.

In this day and age of smartphone integration, touch screen is really the best and most intuitive way to go. Apple Carplay and Android Auto with a click wheel? No thanks.

I change my HVAC all the time: temperature settings, fan settings which direction it’s going. Heat and defrost requirements change throughout my commute, and even more so on a long drive. Maybe during the summer I can put the AC automatic temp and leave it alone, but not for the winter weather.

Same. This probably has to do more with my climate though. The weather is constantly changing here, so I simply cannot "set-it-and-forget-it".

Both my cars have touch screen and they’re so much easier and quicker to use than my dad’s Mercedes with the dials for the screen.

To be fair, they could be talking about interacting with Android Auto or CarPlay through a connected phone.
