small car that does it all, incredibly reliable too

The driver was not intoxicated too. My only guess is it had to be a classic case of pedal misapplication i.e. mistaking the gas pedal for the brake pedal. Albeit I still haven't heard the driver's excuse yet. From what I heard he or she did $250,000 damage to the airport.

      1) I like how the automatic doors opened as it approached
      2) That shrapnel was moving pretty quickly to be able to blast the veneer off the front of the rental car counter
      3) The rental car counter was impressively beefy

They're incredibly lucky the truck hit a reinforced part of the structure as it appears the desk portion was caving inwards at the end of the video with only minimal pressure on it. If the truck had been just a touch further to the right it would have gone right through the desk and the attendant ducking behind the desk, ramming them into the wall behind them.

Excellent point. I'm also surprised there was anyone at the counter because the time stamp shows it was almost 3AM...a blessing really as the baggage claim area was empty. There would have been a lot of injuries/deaths had it been packed with people.

That security cam footage needs some back ground music. Something like this, perhaps.

Damn! That's "today's headline" here at work!

We like to spout what we consider the most outrageous headline when we find one like that.

Ironically he chose National which tells customers to bypass the counter..

On a related note I picked up a new Volvo XC90 from National last night in BNA. Really great car.

A good thing there weren't any planes taxing, or just grounded, let alone being refueled. That could have been way more disastrous.

How the hell? I swear we need to educate people to put a vehicle in neutral when it seems to run away from them.
