Also, that is only half way a "ZHP" copy. It appears to be shorter like a ZHP, but it says that it's 3.3 oz.

As far as I can tell, a real ZHP knob is 5.4 oz and a real OEM leather knob is supposedly 3.0 oz.
I thought I sent the 5 speed one. Oops. Looks like there is no thing as a free zhp knob.

That looks killer! I am stuck with the diving boards, unfortunately being an 87. And my dash isnít cracked!

I wonder what the quality of a ZHP style knob from Lithuania is like: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F391905270883

I am certain it isnít hand hewn.
I ordered my ZHP knob from ECS. I believe FCP also has them. They have them in both 5 speed and 6 speed variants.

Also, I feel the same way to an extent about M logos on non M cars. Which is why I'd never put exterior stuff on my car, in fact just having the little M logo's on my style 68's kind of bugs me, but it is what it is. Going full ham with the bumpers, valences, side skirts.... Helllllll no. But a three spoke steering wheel and a knob that weighs as much as a baseball? Sign me up, I touch those things when I drive, and every bit makes a difference.

I've heard, in certain circles... In dark places. On the internet...

      You could say...

      It's basically an M5, bro.

I have such a passionate hatred of any M Badges on a non-M car. It's wrong in every way IMO.

You always gotta make it about you and your damn E39. "Oh that reminds me of a time when I was in my E39..." "Hey guys did I ever tell you about this time when I was in my E39..." " I've got this sick SS, kinda reminds me of my old E39, have I ever told you guys about that?"

Would it be better if he keeps telling the story about that one time he was in Band Camp?

No way, that one is gross. I don't ever want to hear that one again, I didn't sleep for two days after he told me that story.

I originally used a stock knob after my swap. When you add the short shift kit, DSSR, new bushings, etc, the action is notchy (in a good way). The ZHP knob smoothed out the action. Makes a much bigger difference than expected.

My therapist says I need to work on that. Iím trying guys. Iím trying. You donít know the humble brag burden that an E39 owning pilot carries with him, unless you too have owned an E39 while being a pilot.

If you ever begin to feel bad, you can always just say to yourself... "At least I didn't buy a B5 S4 that's gonna need head gaskets and turbos later this week."

All this talk about unreliable cars in this thread is gonna wear off on the e30, and something is gonna break. Iím glad we are making progress with Brodan though.

I also attempted donuts today. Poor engine couldnít get on cam in a brake stand with these 215 width dz102s, boat anchor wheels and the rear end. It will just hang out at 2k, being pathetic. Not enough wheel speed to make magic happen. Or even smoke.

It amazes me how little power the m20b25 makes under 4K. It definitely wants to breathe. It is so slow unless you bury the pedal past the downshift detent. I guess I am just used to turbo torque.

My E30 was actually insanely reliable. I did eventually blow the stock motor up but that was due to the waterpump failing and the car overheating. Overall that thing was bullet proof. They are lethargic though. It does wonders to throw a lightened flywheel at them. Speaking of things that attach in that area I'm gonna be up near my storage tomorrow. I have to pick some wheels up from powdercoating and I can swing by storage and see what I still have for e30's. I've just been drinking way too much whiskey over the past couple of days to drive anywhere.
