      That’s the plan!!

This grille is pretty mangled, in two pieces with more cracks as well, going to attempt to repair it, but I may have to find another.

And Hellas at NAPA eh, weird!

Is the round headlight grill you purchased earlier a Van Wezel part? thanks

Put some work into the westy setup. Love having grill/core options.

Went through it, plastic welded and used plastic bonding epoxy, spent the next several hours sanding and getting it straight. Polished the retaining rings, blah blah. Then I ordered in all new hardware, used the nos hella h4 kit I scored and put it back together.

I haven’t had the lower trim painted, or really decided if I’m going to paint or dye the grill so it’s as clean as possible. Pain seems risky as removing the pain would be a pita if it doesn’t look right.

Still have the aero setup too.

Test fit the westy, part of me absolutely loves it.. the other part thinks it looks “off” without small bumpers.

Thanks! The rounds are back on for now, that was just a test fit. I still have some work on the grill to do, but like you I’m liking what I’m seeing even though my mind tells me something is fishy.

      Few more updates

Replacement dash arrived to replace the super cracked dash in the car. (Ignore the license plate )

Also got the brakes all prepped for installation prior to tearing in. I’ve already replaced the MC so it will be 100% new

Sure is looking good. Dash work is a real pain for sure. Gotta be a contortionist. Your car has to be one of the very few unmolested alpine white mk2s remaining.

I have a question for you about your headlights. I just did a round headlight conversion on my mk2 but I didnt know where I could buy the headlight assembly. Could you point me in the right direction? I haven't bought lights yet but going from Aeros I dont have a bracket for the round headlights and didnt know where to get them. Thanks.

Not quite unmolested anymore as I’ve added some stuff. But yeah clean ones like this are hard to find anymore.

The beta arrived today, excited to have an OG radio, I was going to go gamma, but the beta was in such perfect condition I decided to snag it.

Where did you get the frame? I've been wanting one for years.

      Cheers.

Curious how much the idle/wot switches set you back, if you don't mind me asking. I'm pretty sure one or both of mine are toast.

Also how well did that exhaust setup end up working for you? I've got an ancient TT exhaust on mine from like 2011...they don't even stock it anymore, and it's louuuuud.

      Car looks great btw.

No need to wait for years, you can still get them nos from the dealer.

They weren’t cheap, I’ll just say that. But I didn’t want aftermarket or used unknown stuff. I know I could just buy a switch and solder it in, but I’m a fan of factory parts.

And the exhaust is great! Tectonics is just amazing. The additional resonator and dual venturis really quieted things down, perfect mix of noise and quiet imo.

Plus, by buying TT you are supporting the best of us. We really need to keep companies like them around as they really are the last of the companies that care about us anymore. I do whatever I can to support them by buying anything I can from them, even if they aren’t offering the lowest price.

Also helps that I’m only a few states away, parts take like two days to show up!

Yeah, they're definitely a good source of stuff for mk1s/2s. Been thinking about getting a second res from them. Mine's especially loud because with my car being safety only (Go texas) i'm catless. Took it out yesterday and i forgot what it was like to be in a car so loud on the freeway that you can't hear yourself think!
