      Hello all..

To those of you who bought the SE trim of the Arteon...Do you wish you paid extra for the higher trim levels, or, are you happy with the SE ?
In my opinion, the SE Arteon is what the Passat SHOULD be here in the USA, anyway...

      Regards, John

My wife has an SE and I have SELP so get to make the comparison daily.

Things that the SELP has that I wish the SE had:

      a. Audio system -the Dynaudio is far better than the stock SE one.
      b. Tailgate power lift - I retrofitted one on the SE
      c. Parking assist with 360 camera system - very useful for parking. Didn't think it would be, but it is.
      d. Sun-roof
      e. Lighting system
      f. Kick to open - cant retrofit to my SE because I have towbar.

Things that the SELp has that I don’t care too much about.

      e. Lane assist - had a few near misses as thing thing pushed me in to my lane. Switched it off. It will stay that way. Not ready for prime time.
      f. Leather seats - the vinyl ones are pretty close to feel and quality
      g. Digital dashboard - its ok, but I don't love it . Others do.
      h. Cruise control - i generally don't use one, but I have heard good reports about it.
      i. ambient lighting - nice when you get in, but seriously is anyone going to drive with this lighting on all the time.

Hope this helps, just my 2 cents.

With the hot season, the ventilated seat are very useful for me

IMO the cruise control is very good. I'm always using it. It's my first adaptative Cruise control car and it's a game changer for me.

I did drop mine to the lowest setting, but you're right, not necessary

I have the SE. Only feature I wish it had is the ambient lighting. I am still researching how I can add it to the SE.

      2019 VW Arteon SE 4motion
      05-26-2020 09:49 AM #6
I purchased my 2019 SE 4motion in Chili Red last December. It's one of the best cars I've ever owned. Probably the only thing I really wished it had was a sunroof, but I wasn't willing to pay $5000 or more to get the next trim level up, especially when mine was marked down more than $6000 by the dealer. I ended up paying right around $34,000 and at that price, the SE 4motion is an absolute bargain IMO. I do wish that VW would offer more options as stand alone items because I would have gladly paid another $800 to $1000 for a sunroof, I just didn't want or need all the other gizmos like ambient lighting (had it in my Fiesta ST, hardly used it), dynamic cruise control (had it in several vehicles, don't particularly care for it), or the digital cockpit (I prefer old-school, black and white instruments).
