That just jogged my memory for another item I have to fix on my car- I bought a set of sunroof guides from Tech-53. They look awesome and I can't wait to install them with the new sunroof seal and resprayed donor sunroof.

Just ordered the steering wheel bushings last night- glad there's a tutorial on how to replace them.

I’m a newb to the VW so hopefully there are still some great minds here to help me with my 88 16v. Only had it a week and I love it. I had always wanted one as my first car some 25 years ago but couldn’t find one so I bought a Audi Quattro Sport Coupe which looked similar. I never realized that they were relatively rare and pretty low import numbers. I’ll be here to help as I learn and find stuff but so far the people here have been very helpful.

I think the helpful element remains. What has clearly tapered off are the build threads with frequent updates, abundant vicariously enjoyed pictures, and entertaining banter.
It's hard for me to know exactly what these things cost me. I'm guessing a LOT, but I like them, so that's that.

Yeah, I really miss all that "extra" stuff. I'm to blame as well, I never update my build thread anymore...

No, it all moved to Facebook, which is a horrible platform. You can't find anything.

Where are you located? They do pop up in the Pacific Northwest.

Oh yes, I took a look at a few in person during my 2 year stint in the PNW (Kirkland, WA) but none were as clean as I had hoped based on the pictures in the ad

Ideally I would be able to get a bone stock example like this one and then proceed to upgrade with Euro goodies and engine mods.

Coincidentally enough there is now one on eBay, but for $17,900 there are a lot of other cars I would go for first...

That's the cheapest Scirocco I have seen on BAT. It was a bargain compared to the sub-par Sciroccos that have sold on BAT for more than the original MSRP.

That guy on eBay has some nice Sciroccos. They must be plentiful where he lives. This is the most expensive and also more than the original MSRP. At least this one has Scirocco wheels instead of the GTI wheels he favors.

There was a true time capsule 1982 Scirocco on eBay. It was ultra low mileage in Cosmos Silver with a blue interior. It was on eBay about 3 times. I should have bought it. It sold for a bit more than $7K.

That was three years ago. It would fetch a much higher price today.

Still here and lurking... Like others have stated, FB is an easier platform to use at this time, but finding anything is an absolute joke. I was actually at the track yesterday with Dagomar, and still gives a run for its money on not too old Turbo'd cars The car is a handfull to drive, but the experience is incredible. I would make a paralel with a crazy horse...lol The Callaway is fully rebuilt and cleaned up. The street car (Euclid) is in ok shape, but would need a good rebuild after being driven hard for 11 years.

      Cholland ! wow! Hahaha!
