Will a 92 16Valve gti Head bolt on to a Fox?

Ive got a fox engine block and a gti head kicking around in my garage. Can I stick them together?

      Yes.

It will take a lot more parts to make a 16V head fit an 8V block. It's been done but it takes a fair bit of knowledge. The compression will be very low if you are using the stock 8V pistons.

IIRC there are clearance issues with the stock manifolds and the hood as well.

With the 2L 9A from the Passat, the throttle pointed forward and will not clear the hood.

In the end, just cause you have a 16v head, doesn't mean you should use a 16v head. You need to decide what you want the end result to be and build from there.

You also have to relocate the battery and remove the battery tray.
