    Thread: EGR Tool?

    1. 07-22-2020 04:59 PM #1
Well, not so much an EGR tool, but something for it.

I’m trying to remove the EGR from my 99 Eurovan.
I can get a wrench not the EGR, but am worried about torquing the pipe it’s connected to too much.
Sure, I could grab the pipe w/ a pipe wrench. Monkey wrench. Or whatever. But would like something that’s less likely to damage that pipe. I have no idea how thin walled it is and worry about crimping it.

      Any suggestions?
What clamp/tool works for grabbing a smooth sided pipe like that?

You have a pic? Early 12v the pipe was pretty meaty.

Meaty as in I can carefully clamp it w/ a pipe wrench and torque on the EGR?
I’ll work on getting you a photo.

I was able to get the EGR off. Bit of fumbling. Bit of break free. Some swearing. Done and done.
      Thanks for your help.
