My wife did a little thing to the front end of our 2019 earlier this week and we’re due to take it in on Monday.

And then a 2021 Atlas was behind me in traffic and I began to ponder swapping to the newer R-Line front end. So the question is...are we simply talking bumper, grille, and headlights? Or are the genders and good different because of the revised headlights?

*Edit...someone tell a mod to change the title to 2021. Wouldn’t be much difference to change to the 2020

To my eye, the front fender appears to be different on the 2021. The shape seems different where it joins the headlight and the front bumper cover.

I am sorry about your misfortune.

Oh man Savvv sorry to hear. Yea I don’t think the front will work since the headlight configuration and grill is slightly different.

soooo, change the headlights and grille! maybe fenders too

I know it's crazy, but back when I had an MKIII, people did this when the MKIII cabriolet got the MKIV facelift.....(and that needed a new hood as well, maybe radiator support, don't remember).

I actually changed my headlights and hood.

The hood release on the lock carrier is different on the 2021, which makes me wonder if the lock carrier/radiator support itself is also different. I'd bet it is, given that the front end of the 2021 is significantly longer.

I think you'd need hood, both fenders, front bumper cover/rebar/absorber/etc, lock carrier/radiator support, possibly fender liners, splash shield/underbody stuff, headlights, grille, new VW logo radar sensor, and possibly more. To do it right and paint it all, ballpark it seems it could easily exceed $10k. But if you wanted to do it, now's the time, since you might be able to have your insurance cut a check for a repair to factory spec and then pay the extra out of pocket. Wouldn't be surprised if some of the 2021 parts are not yet available or delayed...
