09 vw cc 3.6. yesterday i drove most of the day and wen and parked for about 6 mins got out got back in went to crank but no run. display states problem with electric emergency brake light. or malfunction. the actual button that you push light is not on but the light is on the dash. stuck for about 2hours trying to diag t he prob. had to get it towed. now at my shop using autel scanner to see what i can see. and p01314 for ecm communication loss. which i see can be triggered by another code/ module having a n issue. i did the fuse testing with the probe. all are good as far as i can see. now i didnt check the relays and i didnt check where the ecu is located at . so i dunno
gettin mixed responses so far which are kinda relevant to my problem. any suggestions>? has anyone ran into a issue with e-brake light on and engine crank but no run>>?
How bout the connection from the e-brake switch and the engine ecm no communication>?
the fob works with the car opens doors and trunk and is recognized from the dash. it did flash red and beeped while cranking
any and all info would help. im at my shop now constantly trying to figure out whats goin on. thanx

EPB has no effect on starting the car, did you check all modules with the scanner? So far you said there is no communication with ECM, it has to be a fuse that is blown and or relay.

thanx to nycdub .. problem fixed. after doing another electrical check the 2 ecu fuses number 11 and 26 . number 11 showing ground on both sides with power probe. and the other shows power. so i went to the main relays r1 and r2 and swapped them. the SOB fired right up. 100 amp relay with big prongs not in any stores lol. had a donor scion xb supply one and boom bamm bing g2go like the insurance. thanx man

I’m glad you got the car running, now we can fix your EPB issue. Can you post a full auto scan?
