Well I've finally done it, I've imported a mk3 golf from England to America. For my next project I've been looking for a clean mk3 golf for about a year and a half. Couldn't find a really clean specimen that was almost perfect anywhere. I knew my expectations were high and it was going to be difficult to find. I didn't, however anticipate the car I found would be taking a nearly 4000 mile trip to get to me. Anyway here it is. My beautiful unicorn, Chagall blue 1995 VW Golf diesel with 47k original Miles. Not a spec of rust anywhere. I bought it off the original owner. A 80 year old gentleman who bought it new in 1995 and kept it in a garage its entire life. Can't wait to start playing with it.

Nice! But you've got some work ahead of you

Would you mind sharing the cost associated with having a car shipped like that? Maybe google-able, but what was your experience?

I'm into it for about 5Gs so far. It was a pleasant experience so far but its not over yet. I still need to take a trip to the US customs and border patrol office and have it inspected by them. I dont anticipate any issues if it goes off without a hitch then i would definitely do it again.
