      As I pass by the boat full of Trump supporters one of the gentlemen thought it necessary to say "Nice shirt [email protected]". I gave them a thumbs up and kept walking.

      I don't get that from people in boats with Biden flags/banners.

      Granted, there are no boats with Biden flags/banners, so there's that.
      I witnessed one of these flotillas in my backyard last weekend. These people are not the salt of the earth.

      I'm sure they are still around, particularly up in the Kingdom. I moved to Vermont right in the midst of that, signs everywhere in my blue-collar town. We've become more liberal as the old factory workers died off and we became just another Dartmouth/DHMC bedroom town.

      My neighborhood is really quite liberal, but Trump still gets plenty of votes here.. though not enough to move the needle. Vermont is true blue.

      I only see the giant Trump signs when I go across the river to NH. And yes, they are always YUGE, just like the flags, that group is always overcompensating for something.

      So I went to the Dems.org site to see if there were any flags there, nope but they had this;

      No swing states. Everyone who is in the wrong "country" has to move to the section they believe in. I have to move out of FL even though I have previously identified as a Republican.
      Americans hate EVs because they grew up with Power Wheels that were glacially slow, ran out of power in 20 minutes and took an entire day to recharge.

      IIRC the most southernly silo is in MO. However, the majority of them are in prepper country. Not sure which scenario is better here

      Carl: Hey, uh Bob, you know what wire opens the silo door?
      Bob: Let me check my FOIA files...
      <minutes pass>
      Bob: Yeah, you want to give power to the green with the white stripe and the red with the orange stripe.
      Carl: Ok, let me right that down... G/W and R/O...
      <minutes pass>
      Carl: I gotta green wire with a yellow stripe... is that it?
      Bob: You wearing your shooting glasses, Carl?
      Carl: Der. Dangnabit. Thanks, Bob.

      My sister sent me a humorous email today with that basic suggestion.

      We've decided we're leaving. We intend to form our own country, and we're taking the other Blue States with us. In case you aren't aware, that includes Hawaii, Oregon, California, New Mexico, Washington, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois and all the Northeast.

      To sum up: You get Texas, Oklahoma and all the slave states. We get stem cell research and the best beaches.

      We get the Statue of Liberty. You get Branson, Missouri.
      We get Intel and Microsoft. You get WorldCom.
      We get 85 percent of America's venture capital and entrepreneurs. You get Alabama.

      We get two-thirds of the tax revenue. You get to make the red states pay their fair share.

      Since our aggregate divorce rate is 22 percent lower than the Christian Coalition's, we get a bunch of happy families.

      Please be aware that Nuevo California will be pro-choice and anti-war, and we're going to want all our citizens back from Iraq at once. If you need people to fight, ask your evangelicals. They have kids they're apparently willing to send to their deaths for no purpose, and they don't care if you don't show pictures of their children's caskets coming home.

      With the Blue States in hand, we will have firm control of 80 percent of the country's fresh water, more than 90 percent of the pineapple and lettuce, 92 percent of the nation's fresh fruit, 95 percent of America's quality wines (you can serve French wines at state dinners), 90 percent of all cheese, 90 percent of the high tech industry, most of the U.S. low-sulfur coal, all living redwoods, sequoias and condors, all the Ivy and Seven Sister schools, plus Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Cal Tech, and MIT.

      The Red States will get to cope with 88 percent of all obese Americans (and their projected health care costs), 92 percent of all U.S. mosquitoes, nearly 100 percent of the tornadoes, 90 percent of the hurricanes, 99 percent of all Southern Baptists, virtually 100 percent of all televangelists. And Rush Limbaugh, Alex Jones, and Rand Paul.

      Additionally, 62 percent of you believe life is sacred unless we're discussing the death penalty or gun laws, 44 percent say that evolution is only a theory, 53 percent that Saddam was involved in 9/11 and 61 percent of you crazy bastards believe you are people with higher morals then we lefties.

      We get Hollywood and Yosemite.
      We also get Costco.

      Oh, and you can have all the new Coronavirus cases since you're too dumb and self- centered to wear a mask.
      Peace out,
      The Blue States

      But how do you actually carve up those states? If you study the last 50 yrs of election results, for the majority of those states, even CA...there are massive voting districts outside the city/urban centers that have voted Rep consistently for 50+ years. In some cases, like Minnesota, the state outside the twin cities is solid Rep throughout. Those folks aren't leaving for a new place.

      Look at a map of NY State, draw a line from Saratoga Springs to NYC. Everything to the west of that is not close to majority "blue". Not even majority.

      Blue = city voters for that list. That's why I don't do "blue vs red". It's one country, for better or worse. John Adams saw the future when he architected the checks and balances of our government.

      It's an interesting point. If you take the ~50% of blue voters I would wager the occupy ~5-10% of the actual area of the country. Suddenly, the new Liberal States of America looks like an archipelago.
