Hi everyone, if this is the wrong forum for this question my bad, I couldn't find a Gen2 1.8 forum.
I have a 2011 Passat with the CDAA 1.8 TSI engine. I read somewhere that these engines can suffer from high oil consumption due to thin piston rings. The post also mentioned replacing these thin rings with the Gen3 ones which were thicker and apparently solve this issue.
So the main question is, can you replace Gen2 piston rings with Gen3 piston rings?
Thanks
