I was watching this video on YT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ppVdvKlPRR0 and Matt stated that the new system Quattro can send up to 100 percent of the power to the rear wheels, but averages 85%.

Most of us are aware of the Gen 5 Haldex's max of 50/50 torque distribution so this comment drew my attention. Knowing VW/ Audi there is no way the system has moved on from Haldex but my question is has Audi done some fiddling with it? Is it any different at all from our's or any MK7 Haldex?

Could we possibly see a system similar to the Focus RS's and its rear clutch pack diff or would Audi have stated this to be the case.

Just some random questions for discussion, what are your thoughts?

Considering the older Gen 4 can also transfer up to 100% power to the rear, and Saabs got another coupling in the rear for torque vectoring, sounds like it's playing catchup to older technology

Gen 4 Haldex can not transfer 100% of the power to the rear (0% front/100% rear), it's not physically possible b/c the engine is hooked to the front wheels and can not bypass sending power through them. My understanding is that Gen 4 and 5 are v. similar with 5 having a few more features.

I've read that info before - yes, if the f. wheels are on ice the system will engage the rears and send power back but they can't physically spin faster than the fronts which is maybe where I am go with "Haldex can't transfer 100% of the torque" but in that case yes, more torque is going to the back...it's a bit misleading to say this system can transfer 100% of the power is what I am trying to say b/c folks read that and think the fronts don't spin and the rears do which is not how this works.
