Looking to buy a used 2019 Jetta S out of state, and I was wondering if there was a way to confirm it has the drivers assist package through the online photos.

Heating mirror marking? Certain buttons on the left side of the steering wheel?

      Thanks!

Mirrors have blind spot monitoring symbol

Otherwise, you have to ask the seller as I see nothing else on mine, other then menu options for sensitivity

Is the steering wheel the same on cars without it?

You may be able to tell by the emblem on the front grille. On most new cars with frontal collision, the emblems are flush/two dimensional, that’s where the sensor is located. Not sure if VW uses the same emblem or a traditional 3 dimensional one on models without front collision, but it could be useful to investigate!

The badge in the grille is different due to the radar sensor of the emergency braking system.

Without Front Assist, the VW letters are 3-dimensional chrome on black.

With Front Assist, the entire emblem is flat.

On the left side of the steering wheel there will be a button with a car and circle around it. Will have selection to heat side mirrors on the adjusting knob for mirrors.

Thanks, I will try and look for that.

The heating symbol by the side mirrors is what I was looking for, although it seems like they all have it. Maybe they all do have the assist package, I don't know. Somewhere else I read that they all use the same steering wheel, meaning some S models would come with buttons that don't operate anything. Not sure of that is true.

      Thanks!

Looks like the heated mirror marking might be a way to tell. This one appears to not have it, first one I've noticed without it, and I have looked at quite a few. Must have been a common option. Thanks everyone

That's what I thought as well. However, I was watching a youtube video where they were driving a base S manual, and made mention that there was a button on the wheel that didn't do anything. So I don't know if all trims get the same steering wheel or not.

It think around the 5:15 mark of the below video. But they may be talking about something else.

If you are buying a Jetta S to keep your costs low and the vehicle for over 5 years, then avoid the driver's assistance package. When there are issues it is going to cost a lot to fix.
